Four decades of practical experience

John’s consulting career began in 1985 with PA, the international consulting firm. In 1997, he spent a year with KPMG.


He established and led Lorien Management Consultants for 39 years, delivering consulting, training and business improvement programs. He worked with a wide range of technical, professional service and business-to-business organisations.


Across his career, John has worked with organisations operating in the engineering, managed services, energy, construction, manufacturing, professional services and technical sectors.


John has helped businesses to improve their:

Earlier career and qualifications


Before establishing his long-term consulting practice, John spent twelve years with Xerox Corporation in the UK and Australia, working in senior sales, marketing and training roles.


This experience gave him a strong understanding of effective sales systems, as well as a deep appreciation of the importance of training, account management, and the tools and actions that best improve commercial performance. This experience informs John’s work with clients today.


John holds a Bachelor of Arts from Reading University, England, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment from Box Hill TAFE.
